Charles Hayden Foundation Announces New President and CEO

New York, January 22, 2024 – The Board of Trustees of the Charles Hayden Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Sonni Holland as the organization’s new President and CEO, effective January 15, 2024. Anchored by his commitment to empowering youth by providing them with access to opportunities and experiences that explore various avenues for personal and professional growth, Mr. Holland brings over two decades of experience to the role, having previously served as Program Officer, Senior Program Officer, and Senior Vice President of the Hayden Foundation.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Holland has exhibited a steadfast commitment to creating equitable opportunities for underserved youth in both New York City and Boston. Dean Steeger, Board Chair, expressed utmost confidence in Mr. Holland’s ability to lead the Foundation into its next chapter. “Sonni brings a wealth of experience and a passion for providing opportunities for success among underserved youth in both New York City and Boston. His strong ties within the communities we support will enable the Foundation to adapt and address the evolving needs of these communities.”

Under Mr. Holland’s guidance, the Foundation is poised to deepen its commitment to building strong, transparent, and equitable relationships with its grantees and respond to the evolving needs of the communities it serves. His proactive advocacy for new funding streams, particularly in support of youth mentoring and networking programs, has already left a positive impact on the Foundation’s initiatives.
