Submit Inquiry Form

UPDATE as of May 1, 2026: The 2025-26 Fiscal Year Letter of Inquiry submission period has closed. The portal will reopen in early summer for FY 2026-27 submissions.

Letter of Inquiry (LOI) Instructions for New Applicants and Former Grantees

New and First-Time Applicants must first submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) Form through our Grant Portal. If you are a former grantee and have not received funding from the Foundation in the last three years (prior to 2022), you also need to complete the LOI form. This process allows us to learn more about your organization and proposed project before inviting a full proposal.

LOI Form Requirements:

The LOI form will request the following information:

Organization history and mission (max 250 words)

       Organizational budget (current fiscal year)

       Project budget

Proposed project description. Please include activities and intended outcomes. (max 500 words)

Number of youth served by proposed project (annual/unduplicated)

OUR FOCUS AREA: We primarily support organizations that serve youth aged 5 to 18, and in some cases, extend support to participants up to age 24, in New York City and Boston. The program must align with one or more of the following priorities:

      Academic Readiness
Support for programs that build foundational academic
skills—such as literacy, math, and critical thinking—to prepare students for
success at each stage of their educational journey.

      College Access and Persistence
Support for programs that help students navigate the
college admissions process, secure financial aid, and persist through college
to graduation.

      Career Connected Learning
Support for initiatives that expose youth to career pathways through hands-on
experiences, mentorship, internships, workforce skills development, and/or
technical skills relevant to high-demand industries.

      Social Emotional Learning
Support for programs that help young people develop
self-awareness, emotional regulation, leadership skills, interpersonal skills,
and resilience—essential foundations for academic achievement, healthy
relationships, and long-term success.

      Organization/School Capacity Building
Support for projects that strengthen leadership,
staffing, systems, and/or internal capacity to improve outcomes for youth.

Submission Process

  • All applicants must create an account and complete the pre-screening Eligibility Form to determine if the organization is eligible to submit a LOI.
  • If eligible, submit your LOI using the online Grant Portal.
  • If your mission and proposal align with our focus areas, a member of our program staff will follow up with the next steps within 90-days after the date of submission.

All correspendences must be directed through the Letter of Inquiry Form. Submissions are reviewed periodically, and only those that align with our current focus area will recieve a response. The Foundation is unable to accept unsolicited phone calls.

Due to the high volume of submissions and ongoing commitments to current grantees, opportunities for new funding are limited. We are unable to provide individual feedback on LOIs not selected for further review.
