The mission of uAspire (formerly known as ACCESS) is to ensure that all young people have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to and through a postsecondary education. To accomplish this mission, uAspire partners with schools and community organizations to provide free financial aid advice and advocacy to young people and families to help them overcome the financial barriers to higher education. Our continuum of programming provides ongoing college affordability guidance and information from middle school to high school through college graduation, ensuring that finances never get in the way of potential. uAspire's plan to help students pay for college is grade-appropriate and supports students based on where they are in the college affordability process. We focus on the following: • Prepare (7th-11th Grade) - uAspire works with community partners and high schools to begin the conversation about college affordability. By getting students to think about college as early as middle school, they are more likely to see themselves as college students and take steps to prepare -- both financially and academically. • Afford (12th Grade) - Through partnerships with high schools in our three cities, uAspire Advisors provide free financial aid advice to guide students through the FAFSA and review award letters. Students make well-informed decisions on their college future through the help of our Advisors. • Succeed (Beyond High School) - uAspire is available to students while in college -- both in person and through online media -- to address financial issues and to offer ongoing FAFSA support. We also award Last Dollar Scholarships to fill unmet need that students may have.
