We help students unlock their brightest futures. We empower educators to do what they do best. We give communities a chance to participate in the 21st-century economy. And we’ve done it for more than 25 years, leveling the playing field for 100,000 students along the way. When CFES Brilliant Pathways began in 1991, we worked with a handful of rural schools in Central New York to help students find ways to college. We based our work on research conducted by our president, Rick Dalton, who co-authored a study exploring the reasons why low-income students didn’t pursue higher education. Since then, we’ve worked in 1,500 urban and rural schools across the U.S. and Ireland. Our experience proves what data clearly shows: A college education is the surest path out of poverty. And with millions of high-paying jobs projected to go unfilled by 2027 because of a lack of qualified candidates, equipping students with the skills to claim those careers is good both for them and all of society. But we’ve also learned that getting to college is just the start. Every year, we work with 25,000 K-12 students in 200 schools to instill the skills they need to thrive in school, college and their entire lives. Our team includes professional educators and administrators, corporate leaders, non-profit experts and others who recognize the potential each of your communities have – and the knowledge of how to maximize it. Because where a child starts shouldn’t dictate where they finish.
