Global Glimpse works to inspire America's next generation to become responsible global citizens through after school programming and immersion in the developing world. Since 2008 Global Glimpse has served over 2700 students and 270 educators across 50 US public high schools in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and five college preparatory organizations nationally. Global Glimpse was founded in the Bay Area in 2007 and launched its first programs in partnership with 10 low income Bay Area high schools in 2008. Since it's founding Global Glimpse has grown nearly 10-fold and developed a high impact scalable model for global education and 21st century skill building in US public high schools. In 2015 Global Glimpse served 728 students and 78 educators. We are building to serve 1000 students across three US regions annually by 2017 and will be launching programs in Chicago in the fall of 2015. Over 50% of our students come from low-income backgrounds and over 30% of students from our partner high schools and 100% of students from our partner college preparatory organizations live below the US poverty line. Global Glimpse students develop a belief in their intrinsic ability to make a difference in the world and return home seeing their lives and communities in a new light. Our program motivates students to excel academically and provides them with practical knowledge and interpersonal skills to be successful in their college careers and beyond.
